Maud Estelle Work,
painter and etcher, was born in Dallas. She studied art with
Frank Klepper. She was a member of the Dallas Artist League, Oak
Cliff Society of Fine Art and Frank Klepper Art Club. Her works
were exhibited with the Dallas Allied artists 1928-1937; Texas
Centennial Exhibition 1936; Dallas Woman’s Club 1931; Fort Worth
Texas Artists Exhibition 1936-1937, Women Artists of Texas,
1850-1950, and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon,
1993. Her subjects were wide ranging including: florals,
landscapes, Dallas and Texas landmarks, coastal scenes and New
Mexico Indians.
