Painter and
watercolorist, Lee Ramsdell was born in Housatonic, Massachusetts.
She attended Dana Hall School in Wellesley before study at the
University of California and at Smith College for a B.A. She studied
at at the Art Students League, at the Grand Central School of Art,
at the Ringling School of Art, and in Vienna at the
Kustgewerbeschule. She was taught by George Luks, Wayman Adams
and Jerry Farnsworth. She had a long exhibition career beginning in
1930 and held memberships in numerous art groups. She was a life
fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters. She kept
studios in both Housatonic and St. Petersburg, Florida.
