Jessie Aline White was born in South Dakota and studied at the
Minneapolis School of Art, Art Institute of Chicago and Art
Students League. She moved to Dallas in 1919 after traveling to
France to support the Allied Expeditionary Forces in France. She
was quick to adopt and to be adopted by Texans and become a
leading member of the Dallas art community. A printmaker,
watercolorist and painter her works were shown in the Texas
State Fairs, Southern States Art League, in solo exhibitions in
the most prestigious Dallas Galleries and the Dallas Museum of
Fine Arts, in the Texas Centennial Exposition, and in the Texas
General Exhibitions.
