A native of Rochester, New York, Frank DuMond studied in Paris
with Gustave Boulanger, Benjamin Constant and Jules-Joseph Lefebvre.
He was elected a member of the National Academy of Design in 1906.
He was to influence thousands of of artists over his long career as
a teacher at the Art Students League of New York. Students from
Texas who were to benefit from his training included Eloise Polk
Magill, Eleanor Onderdonk, Robert Julian Onderdonk, Mary Motz Wills,
John Sites Ankeney, Kathleen Blackshear and numerous others.
