Florence Elliott McClungwas born in St. Louis and moved with her family to Dallas in
1899. She studied art with
Frank Reaugh, Frank E. Klepper, Olin H. Travis, Alexandre Hogue, and
Thomas M. Stell. She was head of the Art Department at Trinity
University from 1929 – 1942. She was an accomplished artist and has
the gained a reputation as one of Texas’ most talented artists.
