Eugene White was born in
Middle Point, Ohio in 1913. He studied at the Fort Wayne
School of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana and under Loran Wilford in
Sarasota, Florida. He was an instructor for periods of time in
Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, and South Dakota. He was a member
of the Florida Artists Group, Florida Federation of Art, Sarasota
Art Association, and the Art League of Manatee, Florida. White
exhibited widely during his career. Exhibitions included: Sarasota
Art Association, Salmagundi Club in New York, Florida Artists Group,
Knickerbocker Artists, Columbus Gallery of Fine Art, Detroit Art
Institute, Tampa Art Institute, Orlando Art Institute, Miami Gallery
of Fine Art. He died at the young age of 53, in 1966,
Sarasota, Florida.
