Diane Travis (b. 1892)

Diane Travis was born in 1892 in New York City. She studied with Ary Stillman and Howard Giles and in Paris.  She lived for times in New Orleans and Tulsa before moving the Dallas in 1935.  Her exhibition career in prestigious venues includes prize winning paintings in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Annual in 1932 and  in The Texas State Fair Annuals of 1935 and 1939.  In 1940 she moved to Houston and continued painting and exhibiting in the HMFA.
