Chester Snowden (1900-1984)

Chester Snowden was born in Elgin. A student at the Art Students League, at the Grand Central Galleries Art School, at the Richard Art School, and at the Chouinard Art Institute, he also studied with Boardman Robinson. He lived in Houston after 1921. He illustrated twenty-two books by 1946. He was an art instructor after 1935 he was also know as a respected botanist. He began his exhibition career in Houston in 1935 and exhibited over three decades in prestigious venues.
