Charles B. Barrows was born in
Pennsylvania. He was an early artist to arrive in Santa Fe and
was rooming with James Stovall Morris by 1930 where they both
were exposed to the creative influences of the world class
painters who were drawn to the Santa Fe art environment. He was
to work closely with the finest artists of New Mexico and the
Southwest during his long career. He became a wonderful
painter and master printmaker. His works are held in major
collections including those of the University of New Mexico and
the National Gallery of Art.
